Mitchells Plain is a large city on its own. In 1974, the first set of houses were built and it continues to grow. Mitchells Plain is located on the Cape Flats about 20km from the city of Cape Town, on the False Bay coast between Muizenberg & Khayelitsha.

There are more than 40 areas within Mitchells Plain and it has never stopped growing with new houses being built each day. Mitchells Plain also has lovely shopping malls, doing a roaring trade because Mitchells Plain boasts a population of more than 1.5 million people.

Over the years Mitchells Plain produced top class educators, politicians, sports people, artisans and highly skilled and professionals in many fields .of business. A great change in South Africans history started right here in Mitchells Plain with the Launch of UDF (United Democratic front) that was launched at Rocklands Civic Centre in Mitchells Plain. The launch took place on the 20th August 1983, the first master speaker called this day “A turning point in our struggle for freedom.”

Mitchells Plain has many people with different cultural backgrounds & belief systems but with a strong sense of value in wanting to make this a better place to live in.
